The CEC plans to provide all interested parties with equipment for primaries

The CEC of Russia will provide all parties wishing to hold the party early voting (primaries), ballot boxes and voting booths, said the CEC Chairman, Ella Pamfilova. Her words leads TASS on Wednesday, March 15.

“If any party deems it necessary to conduct the primaries, we will create equal conditions for use of the equipment that they need to be able to hold these primaries,” she said at the Commission meeting.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the Central electoral Commission Nikolay Bulaev, the public body sent a letter in Rosimushchestvo with the request to explain the position of the Agency for the transfer of equipment to political parties to conduct intra-party activities. According to him, the government thought it was acceptable, but suggested further consult with the Federal Antimonopoly service.

On 7 February it became known that United Russia plans to hold a preliminary vote on the selection of candidates for participation in regional elections on may 28.

The lists of candidates to the state Duma from “United Russia” at the September election of 2016 was the result of the preliminary intra-party voting, which took place on 22 may. In the primaries featured on nearly 10 million voters.
