Vladimir Putin will visit the Land of Franz Joseph on the eve of the Arctic forum. This statement was made by press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. His words RIA Novosti reported.
“On the eve of the Arctic forum, the President plans to visit the Land of Franz Joseph. Communicate with environmentalists. See the results of cleaning,” — said Peskov.
On the sidelines of the International Arctic forum, Putin will meet with President of Iceland Gudni Johannesson and President of Finland Sauli Niinistö.
The forum will be held in Arkhangelsk on March 29-30.
For the first time the Land of Franz Josef Putin visited in April 2010, when he held the post of Prime Minister. Putin then drew attention to the severe pollution of the region and called for a “spring cleaning”, because the level of contamination exceeded the permissible limits six times.
