The course is developed by teachers of the Missionary Institute of the Yekaterinburg diocese. It will be read by students meteorogically faculties. The program is designed for six to eight hours of lecture. During the course the lecturers will pay attention to such topics as “Religious and political extremism,” “Spiritually-moral ideal of the traditional religions of Russia”, “Sects and sectarianism”. It is argued that the program aims to protect youth from the influence of totalitarian sects and extremist movements.

It is noted that “the foundations of spiritual security” has read the third year students of the Ural state economic University. “The program there was read as part of the mandatory course “Fundamentals of life safety”. This discipline is in the educational standards in all areas of training, but the lessons primarily taught to act in case of fire, man-made disasters, but to protect themselves from the mental effects that can ruin your life and the lives of your loved ones, do not learn,” — said the rector of the Missionary Institute Natalia Dyachkova. According to her, the students and the University administration perceived the course positively.

Program developers emphasized that it is intended for representatives of various religions and also for those who consider themselves atheists.
