The speaker in mid-November last year, is under house arrest, the term of which was extended to April 15. The case of the former head of Ministry of economic development will be investigated at least until may 15. They also seized the defendant funds totaling half a billion rubles.
According to investigators, the official illegally demanded from the representative of the company “Rosneft” a bribe in two million dollars for the legitimate issuance of a positive opinion in respect of the acquisition of state-owned shares “Bashneft”. President Vladimir Putin said that law enforcement agencies provided materials in the case of the speaker was sufficient for the removal of the latter from the post of Minister of economic development.
