The authorities of the Netherlands, Austria and Germany opposed the the activity of Turkish politicians, because I didn’t want the expansion of the influence of Ankara, the head of LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky. His statement was published on the website of the party on Monday, March 13.
“Turkey will hold a referendum on 16 April. Then [President Recep Tayyip] Erdogan, as President, appears very serious powers. (…) Then Turkey can become a threat to the West, because all modes — smooth, all breaks, and Turkey is a strong country”, — stated in the message.
According to the leader of the liberal Democrats, the Dutch “pluck”. “Their Peter praised, they are a great nation. But all they can do is only to grow tulips. And to grow with pesticides can. Here they are the same, the nation is degraded”, he concluded.
On 11 March, the Dutch authorities refused to let into the country two Turkish Ministers. First, they withdrew permission for the landing of the aircraft, the foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu in Rotterdam, and then stopped near the Turkish Consulate in the same city, a convoy of cars with the Minister for family and social policy Fatma Betul saillant Kaya. The official was arrested, declared an “undesirable alien” and was escorted back to the border with Germany.
In turn, the President of Turkey urged to impose sanctions against the Netherlands.
Turkish officials had planned to hold in some European countries where Turkish citizens, a series of rallies to garner their support ahead of the referendum on the new Constitution.
