Calls to remove the body of Vladimir Lenin from the Mausoleum does not correspond to the Orthodox canons, said the Deputy Chairman of the CPRF Central Committee Vladimir Kashin. Thus he commented on the initiative of the Russian Orthodox Church abroad (ROCA), RIA Novosti reported on Monday, March 13.
Communist reproached ROCOR for the lack of response to the challenges the Church faces in other countries, including “all over Ukraine”. “I have not heard the statements of the Church abroad to protect the interests of the parishioners, and the property which burned and destroyed — said Kashin. — And then set fire to (the Deputy, apparently, meant “to stir up” — approx. “Of the tape.ru”) is not necessary, it is not in the spirit of the Orthodox canons”.
Cashin stressed that Lenin was buried on the decision of the Supreme body of state power of the country, the successor of which is Russia.
“Spirituality may do, and not obvious adding fuel to the fire”, — concluded the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist party.
On Sunday, the Synod of bishops of ROCOR urged to release the Red square from “the remains of the chief persecutor and tormentor of the XX century”, which should serve as “a symbol of the reconciliation of the Russian people with the Lord.” According to RIA Novosti, the text was read in all parishes of the ROCOR. At the same time, in the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate on relations of the Church with society and the media refused to comment on the statement of the Church abroad. Prior to this, the representatives of the Department said that a decision on Lenin’s body is not “surpriseparty moment” for the ROC.
In December 2016, two eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate reported that during the shelling Debaltsevo suffered the Alexander Nevsky Church. In August, a shell completely destroyed the temple of the Holy righteous John of Kronstadt in the city of Kirov, three people were killed.
