Matvienko found in Russia, “suicide ramps” for persons with disabilities

The speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko said that in many regions the creation of a barrier-free environment is formally informs “Interfax”.

Matvienko encouraged to equip with ramps already constructed buildings, reports the Agency “Moscow”. “We must act, because it is impossible to see when a disabled person or mother with a stroller can’t move the stairs, it is a disgrace, a penny story, just enough attention,” she said.

In January in a hospital in Ufa, the 55-year-old patient with a broken leg had to crawl to the second floor stairs. In the hospital for a long period of time, the Elevator was not working, and the ramps were absent. In fact the incident a criminal business, the chief doctor of the hospital was dismissed by decision of the head of Bashkiria Rustem Khamitov.

In July 2016 the disabled from Krasnoyarsk committed suicide after three years of unsuccessful attempts to negotiate with the officials about installing a ramp at the entrance. Plan to do this it was assumed in the year 2038.
