An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 occurred in South Ossetia

Earthquake by force 5,1 points has occurred in South Ossetia. The quake was recorded in the area between the town of Kvaisa and the center of Dzau.


 


Fluctuations were recorded at a depth of 40 km, said the Agency Sputnik with reference to the representatives of the emergencies Ministry of South Ossetia.
The most powerful earthquake in this earthquake-prone region happened on 29 April 1991, which destroyed the city center of Dzau and killed 68 people. In 2009, an earthquake partially destroyed the town of Kvaisa.
