Us Senator concerned about the demand for the resignation of 46 prosecutors

WASHINGTON, March 11 — RIA Novosti. The congressional Democrats concerned about the disposal of the Ministry of justice about the immediate resignation of 46 state prosecutors, see it as the administration’s attempt to obstruct justice, said the head of the democratic minority in the Senate, Chuck Schumer.

“I am concerned about the demand for resignation of the remaining U.S. attorneys”, says the statement of the Senator. According to him, although the practice is to replace the state prosecutors as among the presidents-Republicans and Democrats, it was done in a different order and the prosecutors remain at their posts until the appointment of their successor.

On Wednesday, the Prosecutor General, the head of the Ministry of justice Jeff sessions demanded the resignation of the 46 subordinate Federal prosecutors, appointed under the previous President Barack Obama.

“Demanding the immediate resignation of all remaining prosecutors before the approval or the nomination of their successors, the President intervenes in processes and investigation and prevent justice,” said the leader of the Democrats.

The practice of replacing Federal prosecutors can be traced to previous administrations. Ronald Reagan and bill Clinton replaced 89 of the 93 Federal prosecutors, respectively, George W. Bush replaced 88.
