Cause of disasters of two deck-based fighters MiG-29K and su-33 on the aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov” during a campaign in Syria in 2016, was the breakage of a cable of the arresting gear, aircraft no complaints there, told RIA Novosti on Friday a source in the military-industrial complex.
Carrier-based fighters MiG-29K and su-33 on 14 November and 4 December last year while participating in the operation in Syria after the breakage of the cables arresting gear skidded off the deck of an aircraft carrier and fell into the sea.
“In the case of loss of the MiG-29K the cable snapped due to the fact that the plane was landed on deck at the critical angle. Landing su-33 was the standard, and in this case there is talk of poor-quality cable. But in both cases no claim to the aircraft can not be”, — said the Agency interlocutor.
At the same time, he stressed that a detailed analysis of the reasons of breakage of a cable with two plantings can be established only after studying finishing ropes on the shore.
