Schwarzenegger admitted his involvement in elections to the U.S. Senate

Actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is considering the possibility of participating in elections for the U.S. Senate in 2018. On Thursday, March 9, according to the newspaper Politico, citing sources associated with the Republican party in the state.

Schwarzenegger has been a supporter of the Republican party, however, as the newspaper notes, to the post of Senator he may try to qualify as an independent candidate. As noted, the actor may be interested in a more serious confrontation with the President of the United States Donald trump than skirmishes in social networks.

According to a source, Schwarzenegger can offer a political platform which for 16 months, will face rate trump. Their views differ on such key issues as political reform, immigration policy and climate change.

In early February, Schwarzenegger invited the President of the United States Donald Trump “swapped”. In response, the us leader said that he “very badly handled his duties as Governor of California.”

In January, trump criticized the actor for low ratings reality show “the Apprentice”, which was originally led by a billionaire. The actor, in turn, has published a video in which he quoted the inaugural address of the 16th U.S. President Abraham Lincoln. He also wished good luck to the President and expressed the hope that he will “work for the benefit of Americans as actively as their ratings”.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was elected Governor of California 38 in 2003. According to the results of a public opinion poll, 71 percent of the state’s population considered him not coping with their responsibilities. In 2011, he resigned.
