Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev signed the national strategy for women. This paper, prepared by the Ministry of labour, posted on Wednesday, March 8, at the government website.
The strategy is to be implemented in two phases: in the years 2017-2018 will be developed measures of information-analytical, legal and personnel maintenance of the state policy in the interests of women. In 2019-2022 years it is expected to implement steps to improve the situation of women in the economic, social and cultural spheres.
It is noted that the implementation of the strategy will be implemented through existing state programs.
On 15 February it became known that Dmitry Medvedev promised the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko to adopt the Strategy of action for the rights of women as a gift on March 8. On the meeting of Medvedev with the Council the upper house of Parliament Matviyenko recalled that the document was submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers in early February.
