The Federation Council was concerned about the lack of systematic work with the DPRK

Viktor Ozerov

To resolve the North Korean nuclear issue to the world community lacks a common system approach, the head of the Federation Council Committee on defense and security Viktor Ozerov. His words leads to “Interfax” on Monday, March 6.

The MP expressed concern for the next rocket launches in the DPRK, which, according to him, violate the resolution of the UN Security Council banning the testing of missile systems.

“I have the impression that on the Korean issue, we begin to speak only after the next start-up, when Japan and South Korea start talking about security site. Then again, forget” — said Ozerov.

In his opinion, the international community is pursuing with North Korea system work, such as with Iran. “Consistency has been observed. There is no unity in the approaches between Russia, China, USA, South Korea and Japan,” said the Senator. He stressed the need to take concrete practical steps that North Korea “got the other direction and stopped saber-rattling”.

Earlier Monday, a South Korean news Agency Yonhap reported that the DPRK launched missiles of unknown type. According to the Agency, it could be a test of an Intercontinental ballistic missile KN-08 & KN-14. It is noted that they coincided with South Korea’s large-scale Korean-American military exercises.

The Secretary General of the Cabinet of Ministers of Japan Acehide Suga in turn, said that three of the four missiles launched by the DPRK, fell within the exclusive economic zone of Japan. He stressed that this is a serious threat to the security of the country.

Previous tests of ballistic missiles, which condemned the UN security Council, North Korea conducted on 12 February.
