Rustem Khamitov

The head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov proposed to create in the region the Ministry for family Affairs. It is reported TASS on Monday, March 6.

“Unfortunately, the government has focus on the family. (…) We have radical proposals to create a Ministry for family or a special state Agency, which would deal with the problem of family relations,” he said in a meeting with mothers of large families.

Such a Department could consider providing assistance to those who are “hard, difficult” and “special questions connected with the problems,” said Khamitov.

He stressed that in the Republic sharply decreased birth rate: in 2013-2015, the figure was 59 to 60 thousand in 2016 — 56,5-57 thousand. “We have to think how to get out of this situation”, — concluded the head of Bashkiria.

3 Feb party “Communists of Russia” proposed to dismiss the governors for the lack of natural population growth in the region. If the government can not solve the problem, “no other it certainly won’t solve them,” said the Deputy Chairman of the party Central Committee Yaroslav Sidorov.

In August last year, the state Duma Deputy Olga Epifanova proposed to create a Ministry for children’s Affairs at the Federal level. In her opinion, the Agency could focus on providing social guarantees for families, creation of favorable environment for the development of children, organization of their summer recreation, and prevention of child abandonment.

In the summer of 2016 Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Institute of demography, migration and regional development Yuri Krupnov said that Russia by 2025 awaits deeper than in the 1990-ies, a demographic hole.
