The majority of Russians would not like to see as President of the country woman, reports the newspaper “Izvestia”.
According to the survey “Levada-Center”, only 33% of respondents admitted the presidency women in Russia in the next 10-15 years. 54% strongly opposed. The majority still noted that a positive attitude towards women in politics and would like to see them in high government positions.
According to the head of the Political expert group Konstantin Kalachev, people are easier to imagine a woman in “abstract positions.”
“Women in government positions in Russia are associated with responsibility, honesty, diligence, discipline and efficiency, and the request to leader-mother is, but another question arises — do we really need another President. The majority believes that there is,” said Kalachev.
Psychologist Paul Volgenau said that the survey results influenced by stereotypes, according to which the principal is a man.
“Many people still believe that a woman will not seriously pursue a career, and sooner or later will go to the family and its direction will have someone to delegate”, — said Polienko.
The survey was timed to celebrate International women’s day.
