The U.S. Congress has proposed to halve military aid to Ukraine

Moscow. 3 Mar. INTERFAX.RU — the Committee of the lower house of Congress on appropriations has proposed to allocate $150 million dollars in military assistance to Ukraine in 2017, follows from the document published on the website of the Committee.

This amount is twice less than the same expense in the past year because of the support of Kiev was laid down $300 million.

The money, according to the draft, should go for training, equipment, intelligence, logistics as well as supply the Ukrainian military with lethal weapons

It is particularly pointed out that the allocated funds should not be paid for the purchase of Kiev portable air defense systems.

Before the bill will come into force, it must be approved by the house of representatives and be signed by the President.
