The senators introduced a bill on the refusal of absentee ballots

MOSCOW, March 3. /TASS/. The Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on constitutional legislation and state construction Andrey Klishas and a member of the Committee for Federative structure, regional policy, local government and Northern Affairs Anatoly Shirokov submitted to the state Duma a bill, suggesting a number of changes to the electoral law, in particular the abandonment of the practice of using absentee ballots. This was reported by the press service of the upper chamber.

“An opportunity of voting at the request of the voter, submitted in established order. This will affect those citizens who on voting day will be absent at the place of registration. They are entitled no later than three days before the date of election by telephone or electronic application to apply for voting at the place of location in the generated CEC of Russia, the Center of applications”, – stated in the message.

In case of receipt from a citizen of more than one application, all subsequent will be rejected.

Earlier, the CEC Chairman, Ella Pamfilova said that the Ministry together with legislators working to create the possibility of a vote of the citizens not the place of permanent residence and place of stay without absentee ballots.
