The goal of this trip is to explore the possibilities for joint economic activities of Japan and Russia on the Kuril Islands, previously at the highest level was agreed between the leaders of the two countries Vladimir Putin and Shinzo Abe. In particular, it will discuss the possibility of joint activities in the fields of agriculture and fisheries, tourism, energy, medicine, and recycling of household waste.
“The area government is ready to form the necessary measures to support entrepreneurs, using the mechanisms of public-private partnerships, subsidies and solving questions of technical connection to engineering infrastructure. Sure, this format of cooperation will be successful and will benefit both parties”, — said Governor of the Sakhalin region Oleg Kozhemyako.
