TFR confirmed the arrest of the former General producer “Seventh Studio”
Alex Malopolski, who expect to be charged previously was Director of the “Gogol-center”.
Moscow. June 20. INTERFAX.RU — during the investigation of the criminal case on embezzlement of budget funds allocated to the organization ANO “the Seventh Studio”, arrested her ex-General producer Alexey Malopolski, said Tuesday the official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia Svetlana Petrenko.
“On June 19, as a suspect, arrested the former General producer of ANO “the Seventh Studio” Alex Malopolski. In the near future the consequence plans to charge him and request the court to elect a preventive measure,” she said.
According to Petrenko, “the investigating authorities of the Main investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation the city of Moscow continues investigation of the criminal case initiated under part 4 of article 159 of the criminal code (fraud in especially large size)”.
According to investigators, the persons from among the leadership of the Autonomous nonprofit organization ANO “the Seventh Studio” from 2011 to 2014, were abducted budget funds in the amount of about 200 million rubles allocated by the state for the development and promotion of arts of the Russian Federation. Defendants in the case are former chief accountant, “the Seventh Studio” Nina Masliaev and former Director of the Yuri Itin in respect of which the court elected the measure of restraint in form of detention and house arrest.
Before the source told “Interfax” about the detention of the ex-Director of the “Gogol-center” Alexei Malopolska. According to him, Malopolski was called as a witness in a capital Central Board of the Investigative Committee. “After the interrogation he was another suspect in the case of embezzlement in “the Seventh Studio”, — said the source. He said that in the near future the consequence will petition for arrest of Malopolska in court.
At the end of may in the “Gogol-center” and the home of its artistic Director, the founder “the Seventh Studio” Kirill Serebrennikov were searched in the case of embezzlement of large sums of money. The Director was questioned as a witness and released under the obligation about an appearance to the investigator. In Association of theatre critics (APC), said that the searches in the “Gogol-center” “had deliberately intimidating form and political implication.”
