Kazakhstan plans to ban the wearing of the niqab and the burqa
MOSCOW, June 16 — RIA Novosti. The Kazakh authorities intend to prohibit the wearing of the niqab and burqa in public places and to take measures to protect the rights of non-believers. About the Agency Sputnik Kazakhstan told the Ministry of religious Affairs and civil society in the Republic.
Now the Agency is working on the text of the bill. The authorities plan to toughen the penalties for illegal involvement of minors in religious activities, financial transparency of religious organizations and strengthen oversight of associated civil servants.
Special attention will be given to the protection of the rights of atheists and regulation of the means of obtaining religious education abroad. In addition, the claimed ban on wearing “clothing that prevent facial recognition in public places”.
“In this work the main objective — secure the future of the country. It is important that people understand the dangerous nature of radical religious movements and to locate the differences between them and traditional religious basis,” — commented on the initiative of the Minister of religious Affairs and civil society Nurlan Yermekbayev.
Informed in a press-service of Nursultan Nazarbayev said that the President is going to allow women to dress in black in case of mourning. According to the President, wearing a dark Arabian dresses do not conform to the customs of the Kazakh people.
