The Secretary of the Russian security Council Nikolai Patrushev, June 15, will take part in session of Committee of secretaries of security Councils (CSSC) of the Organization of collective security Treaty (CSTO), which will be held in Minsk. “The members of the Committee of security Council secretaries will discuss a wide range of modern challenges and threats which have a negative impact on the situation in the regions of collective security, – have informed in a press-service of the Russian security Council. – Only in the agenda of the meeting of the CSCS included 11 questions.”

The Committee of secretaries of security councils is the consultative and Executive body of the CSTO coordination of interaction of member States in guaranteeing their national security. Last year the meeting of security Council secretaries of CSTO countries was held in Yerevan, one of the main issues is the fight against terrorism. Then Patrushev in his speech urged the countries of the CSTO to unite efforts in the fight against the radicals who return from Syria.

According to him, an attempt to create a worldwide Caliphate – quasi-state formations based on extremist ideology and medieval forms of social organization – shows how dangerous this “cancer”. “International terrorist organizations are actively involve in its activities all new supporters, including using social networks, create terrorist cells around the world, prepare and carry out terrorist attacks using suicide bombers”, – said Patrushev.

In this regard, the Russian Federation for each international court and during negotiations with foreign partners urged to join efforts in combating this evil. We are ready to cooperate in a multilateral format and on bilateral basis”.
