Trump extended sanctions against a number of representatives of the authorities of Belarus

WASHINGTON, 14 Jul — RIA Novosti, Dmitry Zlatarev. The US President Donald trump on Tuesday extended for one year sanctions against some representatives of the authorities of Belarus.

“I… sent a notification that a state of emergency in relation to the actions of certain members of the government of Belarus and other persons that undermine democratic processes and structures in this country, must continue beyond June 16, 2017,” said trump in a letter addressed to the leaders of Congress.

It is noted that sanctions were imposed in accordance with the Executive decree of the President of the United States 13405 of June 16, 2006. They have since been extended annually.

In particular, trump mentioned the fact that the defendants in the “black list” involved, according to the United States, for human rights violations, political repression and corruption. According to him, everything is “poses an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security interests and U.S. foreign policy”.

Usually the US sanctions mean the freezing of assets got under them and ban American citizens into any transaction with them.
