The former head of the Federal penitentiary service Reimer received 8 years in prison
MOSCOW, June 14. /TASS/. The Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow has sentenced to 8 years in prison the former head of the Federal penitentiary service Alexander Reimer, finding him guilty of fraud by 1.3 billion rubles in the procurement of electronic bracelets, the correspondent of TASS.
Two other defendant in the case, Nikolai Krivolapov, and Victor Opredeleno was 5 years and 8 months to 6 years in prison respectively.
Protection will appeal against the verdict, said the lawyer Vladimir Zherebenkov. “Protection insists on innocence of defendants in the case and submit the complaint in appeal instance of the Moscow city court”, — said the lawyer.
Purchase bracelets
According to investigators, the defendants in 2010-2012 stole more than 2.7 billion rubles have been allocated for the purchase of the Federal penitentiary service of the so-called electronic bracelets.
At a price of 19 thousand rubles a stationary control device was bought for 108 thousand rubles, a mobile device that allows you to track the movements outside the home was bought for 128 thousand rubles.
June 30, 2016, the Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow has sentenced one of the defendants in this case, an entrepreneur Nikolai Martynov, the company which supplied the bracelets, to three years and eight months in a penal colony with a fine of 500 thousand rubles.
It Martynov, according to the investigation, gave Reimer in his study of 140 million rubles in cash as payment for assisting in the embezzlement of budget funds. Due to the fact that the entrepreneur admitted his guilt, repented, and gave evidence, it was concluded pre-trial agreement on cooperation with the investigation, and the trial was held in a special manner.
Alexander Reimer was the head of the Federal penitentiary service of Russia from August 2009 to June 2012.
