The state Department explained the situation with the Day of Russia a new approach
WASHINGTON, June 14. /Offset. TASS Andrey Shitov/. The US state Department has not spread publicly congratulations to Russia’s national holiday, celebrated on 12 June.
As explained on Tuesday by TASS, the press service of U.S. Department of state, under the new administration of Donald trump adopted the “new approach where formal greetings are transmitted via the U.S. Embassy” in the respective capitals.
“We no longer distribute greetings as press releases, — said the press officer. But we place them on your site. Officially they are awarded through our Embassy”. “We ourselves do not share them, but don’t mind if recipient countries do,” he added.
The press service found it difficult to say at once, was congratulated on the occasion of Russia Day through the Embassy in Moscow, but promised to clarify it.
Earlier in the Russian Embassy in Washington drew attention to the lack of traditional greetings on the Day of Russia from the US authorities. “We can confirm that from the American side is not received the Day of Russia. Is the first time in our memory. Draw your own conclusions,” — said in the message on the page Embassy in Facebook.
Russia day — a national holiday of the Russian Federation. Established by presidential decree of June 2, 1994. In accordance with the Labour code of the Russian Federation it is a holiday. June 12, 1990 adopted the Declaration on state sovereignty of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.
