More than seven million people took part in the events dedicated to the Day of Russia across the country, told RIA Novosti the official representative of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Irina Volk.
“June 12 as of 20:30 GMT in all regions of the country in the celebrations – the parades, concerts and festivals — participated more than seven million people”, — said the Wolf to the Agency.
In ensuring public order and safety of citizens when conducting events are attended by employees of the interior Ministry of Russia, Regardie representatives of national teams, Russian Cossacks and employees of private security organizations.
“Violations of public order and emergencies during the festive celebrations are not allowed,” she added.
Earlier it became known that in Moscow in the festivities and the mass celebrations devoted to Day of Russia, was attended by approximately 2.5 million people.
Russia day is celebrated for the fifteenth time. Ten years before that it existed as the Day of adoption of Declaration on state sovereignty of the Russian Federation (in the people — the independence Day). The document on the establishment of the holiday was adopted at the first Congress of people’s deputies in 1990. On 12 June, Russia declared a day off, throughout the country traditionally held mass celebrations.
