Medvedev approved a draft agreement on joint film production Russia and India

Moscow. June 2. INTERFAX.RU Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree, which approved the draft agreement between the governments of Russia and India on the joint production of films, the official website of the Russian government on Friday.

“Signed by the Russian Side approved the draft agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of India on audiovisual co-production”, — stated in the message.

It is noted that the agreement determines conditions of awarding the films of joint production the status of “national film”, entering the territory of each state of the crew the other hand, temporary import and export of equipment and materials necessary for the production of joint films, the shares of the financial contributions of co-producers.

“The agreement will allow to expand rental opportunities movies Russian-Indian production, will contribute to the development of the Russian film industry, the strengthening of cultural ties between Russia and India,” the statement reads.

Currently, Russia has signed similar bilateral agreements on cooperation in the audiovisual field, with Canada, Italy, Bulgaria, Germany, multilateral agreement with the CIS countries. Since 1994, the Russian Federation participates in the European Convention on cinematographic co-production.
