Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will discuss the fight against international terrorism and the situation in the East of Ukraine at the meeting scheduled for 2 may. This was reported on the Kremlin website on Friday, April 28.
“It is planned to address key international problems, including combating terrorism, the situation in the middle East, the implementation of the Minsk agreements on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis”, — stated in the message.
The parties will also discuss prospects for development of Russian-German relations, including cooperation “in the energy, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.” In addition, Putin and Merkel will exchange opinions on the summit of “Big twenty” which will pass in July in Hamburg.
It is expected that the G20 summit will be held the first meeting of Vladimir Putin with US President Donald trump. Angela Merkel has held talks with the American leader on March 17.
On 16 March it became known that the German Chancellor will arrive in Moscow on 2 may. The Kremlin noted that Merkel’s visit does not mean the resumption of the Russian-German interstate consultations.
