South Korea has proposed to consider the membership of the DPRK in the UN
As other measures against Pyongyang offered to stop the supply of crude oil and to block the receipt of hard currency.
UN, April 28. /TASS/. South Korea offers to consider the question of whether the DPRK to remain a member of the UN.
This was stated by Minister of foreign Affairs of South Korea Yun Byung-Se at a special meeting of the Security Council of the world organization.
We could take such powerful measures as the termination of deliveries of crude oil to North Korea and blocking of revenue to North Korea in hard currency, for example through the suspension of all imports of coal from North Korea, and seriously consider the question of whether North Korea, which is a long-standing and serious offender, to be a member of Onun Ben Suministr foreign Affairs of South Korea
The Minister noted that South Korea wants to bring the DPRK to the negotiating table “for the sake of true denuclearization,” not “put the country on its knees.”
Yun Byung-Se added that such negotiations will not succeed until the North Korean authorities are interested “not in the denuclearization of, and to receive the status of nuclear powers and the negotiations in this status”.
“They are only buying time in order to develop their potential in the field of weapons of mass destruction. We must break this vicious circle,” concluded the South Korean Minister.
