One in four Russians favoured recognition by Moscow of independence of the breakaway Donetsk and Lugansk national republics (DND and LNR). This is evidenced by the results of a survey of the all-Russia centre of studying of public opinion (VTSIOM), reports RIA Novosti on Wednesday, March 29.
In the survey, the results of which are available to the Agency, was attended by 1.2 thousand Russians at the age from 18 years. It was held on March 22-23.
According to the poll, 25 percent of respondents believe that Russia should recognize the independence of DND and LNR, another 24 percent are in favor of their joining the Federation. With 30 percent of respondents believe that Moscow should not intervene in the conflict in the South-East of Ukraine.
Nine percent found it necessary to help Russia to promote the autonomy of the republics within Ukraine. Answer, suggesting that Moscow should help Kiev to regain control over the DNI and LC, chose 4 percent of respondents.
Sociologists also asked the respondents about their attitude to the transport blockade of Donbass. 20 percent of respondents believe that the Russian authorities have nothing to do, 15 percent were in favor of assistance to residents of DND and LNR.

VTSIOM conducted a similar survey in early February. He then showed that 24 percent of respondents in favor of the recognition of the independence of the DNI and LC, 18 percent think it is possible to take them to Russia.
In February, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the recognition on the territory of Russia of documents and license plates of vehicles issued to citizens of Ukraine and stateless persons permanently residing on the territories of separate districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
