Over the past week, Russia increased the number of patients hospitalized with symptoms of influenza and SARS. On Tuesday, March 28, RIA Novosti said the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova.
“This week increased by 14 percent the number of hospitalized patients with a diagnosis of SARS and influenza. The previous week the proportion of influenza B was 75 percent, this week is already 86.5 percent,” — said Popov.
According to her, the situation will remain tense at least two weeks. Despite the fact that in some regions, influenza activity is declining, the incidence remains elevated at the expense of children. The highest incidence rates are observed among school children in Kalmykia and Kemerovo region.
According to Ministry of health, in 2017 in Russia were vaccinated against the flu more than 50 million people, or nearly 40 percent of the population. In this regard, the Ministry expects that severe complications and deaths will be less than in 2016.
