Ben Affleck stated that he underwent treatment for alcoholism
The actor said that he struggled with this addiction in the past and “will continue to oppose it in the future.”

Actor, screenwriter and film Director Ben Affleck said that he passed a course of therapy for alcohol dependence, from which he was suffering for a long time. The announcement was published Tuesday on the official website of the Hollywood stars in the social network Facebook.
“I completed treatment for addiction to alcohol,” wrote the actor. He noted that he struggled with this addiction in the past and “will continue to oppose it in the future.”
Affleck stressed that “wants to live life to the fullest and how you can better perform the duties of a father.”
Winner of two awards “Oscar” stressed that only “the first of many steps” on the way to total victory over the addiction to alcohol. He thanked for the support of family and friends, and actress Jennifer garner, who is currently his wife. In 2015, the Hollywood couple announced their intention to divorce, but the process is not yet complete.
Affleck and garner married in 2005. They have three children, the youngest of whom — Samuel — was born in 2012. According to media reports, the actors have decided to divorce, in particular, due to Affleck pathological addiction to gambling, he denied the allegations.
Affleck previously has been treated for alcoholism. So, in 2001, he was a 30-day course of therapy. His spokesman said then that some members of the family of the actor in the past suffered from this dependence.
