Vartan Toganyan appointed as the new Ambassador of Armenia in Russia

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has appointed Vardan toganyan the new Ambassador of Republic in Russia. The corresponding decree published by the press service of the head of state. Tahanan, will replace 70-year-old Oleg Yesayan, head of the Armenian Embassy in Moscow since January 2010.

Tahanan was born on 8 December 1967, she graduated from the historical faculty of Yerevan state University. In 2001 he defended his doctoral thesis on “Socio-political and economic aspects of the Armenian – Russian relations in transition” at the Institute of socio-political research of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1990-e years he held the posts of second Secretary, first Secretary, Counsellor of the Embassy of Armenia in Russia.

In 2001, Tahanan founded “Eurasian media group”, published in magazine “Eurasia”, “abroad” and “Eurasia today”. He is the author of several books and scientific articles. In different years he headed the boards of Directors of the Sverdlovsk film Studio and the company “Borisoglebsky starch”.

Tahanan, fluent in English and Japanese. Married, father of four children.
