State Duma Deputy Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist party) at the plenary session in the lower house of the Parliament recalled the head of state about preparations for the centenary of the revolution of 1917 and urged MPs to pay tribute to this historic event. On Friday, March 10, the correspondent “reports Tapes.ru”.

“Recognition of this event at the highest level should put an end to the unbridled desire of politicians to denigrate the gains of October. It’s the greatest watershed event that has caused dramatic geopolitical and economic changes in Russia and the world”, — the Communist told.

He added that the country under the leadership of the Communist party and personally by Joseph Stalin not only won the great Patriotic war, but “has reached unprecedented heights in the development of cultural and industrial potential.”

15 Feb historian Nikolai Svanidze called the coming century the October revolution of 1917, a good reason to bury the body of revolutionary leader Vladimir Lenin. According to him, the mausoleum on red square has long since lost its value, but Lenin’s body is kept there for fear that some people might be offended at his disposal.

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has signed the order about preparation events dedicated to the centenary of the revolution in the end of last year.

The October revolution (the Great October socialist revolution or Bolshevik revolution) is one of the largest political events of the XX century. It happened in Russia in October (new style — November) 1917.
