Jeff Sessions
Lawyers in the US filed a lawsuit against attorney General Jeff and Roman sessions because the Senate Committee of Congress, he hid “relations with the Russian government.” This writes the newspaper The Washington Post.
The so-called “ethical claim” was sent on behalf of the American Council for civil liberties (ACLU) advocates disciplinary Commission of the Alabama. Sessions is a member of the bar of this state since 1973.
In the ACLU claim that the sessions violated the professional rules of lawyers of Alabama, prohibiting to participate in actions related to the “dishonest acts, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation”.
Earlier, the WP reported that in 2016 sessions twice met with the Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergei Kislyak and concealed this fact when he in January 2017 at a meeting of the relevant Senate Committee asked about contacts with Russian officials.
The disciplinary Committee of five members will determine whether the complaint is proper, after which the document will be sent Sesna, which will have to give a written answer. You will then begin the investigation of the Committee on complaints and the office of the General counsel, after which the hearing will be presented evidence and witnesses.
These units will make recommendations directly to the disciplinary Commission which will determine whether to impose sanctions. According to the status of the Commission, it is entitled to impose a penalty from reprimand to denial of the right to engage in advocacy — either temporarily or permanently.
Similar claims were put forward and other members of the team of President Donald trump. In early February it became known about the telephone conversations, White house adviser for homeland security Michael Flynn Kislyak. Flynn was eventually forced to resign.
In January it was reported that American intelligence agencies are investigating possible ties between members of the team trump with Moscow. It was noted that investigators have information about certain financial transactions. Trump any political or business ties with Russia denies.
