Samara Deputy Interior Minister accused of receiving millions in bribes from criminals

From April 2011 to August 2017, the accused systematically received bribes in the amount of 150 to 400 thousand rubles for helping members of the organized criminal group. The total amount of illegal remuneration exceeded 22 million rubles.

Based on the materials of the FSB, a case was opened against a high-ranking policeman under part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Taking a bribe on an especially large scale”).

The Zakonovskie criminal group was created in the 1990s by the criminal authority Alexander Zakonov. She controlled the Kirov clothing market, the largest in the Samara region. In December 2004, Zakonov was shot dead during a card game in a private apartment, after which the personal guard of the deceased, Aleksey Ryzhov, became the new leader of the organized criminal group.

After Ryzhov's death in 2016, the Zakonovskys were headed by Sergei Gafurov, who in July 2018 years convicted of organizing a contract murder.
