Moskomstroyinvest: Moscow authorities have issued a permit for the construction of a branch of the Hermitage This was reported by the press service of Moskomstroyinvest.
Its own Hermitage will appear in Moscow as part of the reorganization of the ZIL industrial zone in the Danilovsky district. According to the press service, the developer received a permit valid until March 12, 2023, and is ready to start work. The Hermitage-Moscow Museum will be erected at the intersection of the Vesnin Brothers Boulevard and Rodchenko Street. The building will occupy an area of over 12 thousand square meters. The developer LSR Group will build the museum.
“The facades of the five-story” cube building “will be a grid of metal structures stylized as copper. The building also has an underground floor, ”the message says. A special feature of the project will be the entrance hall, from which all exhibition floors will be visible. “Due to the absence of closed partitions, the space will be visible not only upwards, but also through and through, from the boulevard to the Tyufeleva Roshcha park,” added Moskomstroyinvest. It is specified that such an architectural solution will become a kind of reference to the museum building in St. Petersburg.
The developer also plans to build housing, cultural and social facilities and parking lots together with the project. Moskomstroyinvest noted that the museum will attract not only residents of the quarter and Danilovsky district, but also other Muscovites and tourists.
Earlier in 2021, the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art prepared a plan for the reconstruction of the Soviet Hexagon pavilion in the Park Gorky. However, the project was disapproved of by the Arkhnadzor public movement. The association called on the Department of Cultural Heritage to postpone the approval of the project, as its implementation threatens the authenticity of the monument. Arkhnadzor propose to organize a public discussion of the project with the participation of heritage experts and urban protectionists.
