The eternal flame in Omsk will burn only 17 days a year due to lack of money, said local authorities.

As told in the mayoralty of Omsk Agency FlashSiberia, before 1 January of the current year exploitation of the monument engaged in regional public organization of war veterans, armed forces and law enforcement agencies with the support of “Omskgorgaz”. What gas company has allocated 400 thousand roubles per year on the functioning of the memorial.
“The municipality took the eternal flame on its balance sheet, this additional cost,” said the spokesman and added that the city authorities are likely to request the government of the Omsk region to pick up their memorial in 2017.
