The lake in Australia pink.

Lake in the Australian state of Victoria became pink.

According to The Telegraph, at first glance it may seem that it happened due to water trapped in the paint or because of the pollution, but really we are talking about natural phenomenon.

The pond in Westgate Park have changed color due to the very high levels of salt, and also in connection with high temperatures, sunshine and lack of rain.

As explained in the natural complex, in a salt crust at the bottom of the lake to grow algae that produce red pigment (beta-carotene) as part of the process of photosynthesis.

“Enjoy the view, but we suggest you not to contact water”, — added in the Park.

It is expected that the lake will return to its normal color when the weather becomes cool and when the level of precipitation will increase.
