British scientists, Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE ) have determined the date of the coronavirus pandemic. In their opinion, COVID-19 will be dangerous until at least 2026. They presented their findings in a statement published on the organization's official website.
“SARS-CoV-2 continues to pose a threat to the healthcare system and require active control through vaccination and data monitoring for at least the next five years “, – the statement says.
At the same time, experts emphasize that these periods may increase if measures for vaccination, epidemiological control and global containment of the spread of infection are not effective enough.
The statement also notes that for 5-10 years, it is very likely that it will be necessary to maintain herd immunity with vaccines and boosters, as well as use other measures (testing, ventilation, isolation of patients, etc.) to control the spread of the disease. >
