Political scientist Vakarov: the Ukrainian authorities are pursuing a triple and absolutely immoral policy said that in order to pass the heating season, the Kiev authorities need to buy coal from Donetsk and Lugansk, discarding their negative statements about them. He stressed that Ukraine, for example, sells water to Luhansk, receives money for it and does not see any problem in this.
“So why can't we buy electricity? And everything is simple: because it will be fun. This is our, unfortunately, a dual or even triple and absolutely immoral policy, where on the one hand we can sell water, because water goes through Luhansk-Donetsk to Mariupol, and on the other hand we cannot buy coal. And from a third party, we buy the same coal, but according to gray schemes: through Turkey, through Poland, “the expert said.
In addition, he noted that such things in the country are politicized, and Viktor Medvedchuk, the head of the political council of the Opposition Platform – For Life (Opposition Platform – For Life) party, is accused of treason because he organized, participated in, or established a mechanism for the supply of coal from Donetsk and Lugansk to Kiev, when it was legal to conduct such cases.
According to the political scientist, if the authorities offer the Ukrainians a choice of “heat, but from coal from Lugansk”, or “cold” , then almost every resident would speak in favor of the first option. However, as the expert noted, Ukraine cannot take such a step due to its anti-Russian policy.
Earlier, Viktor Medvedchuk explained the attacks of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on businessman Rinat Akhmetov. In his opinion, the head of state is trying to take revenge on Akhmetov for the criticism he has heard on the channels owned by the oligarch. According to the politician, there is a connection between the charges of treason brought against him earlier by the prosecutor's office and the president's statements about Akhmetov's probable involvement in the preparation of a coup d'etat in the country.
