Aviasales named the most popular tourist routes among Russians who want to go for New Year's holidays in another city or country. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
Compatriots planning to spend holidays in Russia, most often buy tickets to St. Petersburg. A flight from Moscow to the northern capital for the New Year will cost customers five thousand rubles there and back, the company noted. To fly to Sochi in both directions will currently cost at least ten thousand rubles, to Kaliningrad – a little cheaper. A visit to Krasnodar will cost nine thousand rubles, and Mineralnye Vody – 11 thousand rubles. The listed cities turned out to be the most popular among Russians for winter holidays.
As for foreign holiday destinations, Russians most often buy tickets to Turkey. Their cost is at least 19 thousand rubles there and back. Other destinations that turned out to be of interest to travelers were Georgia, with which there is no direct flight connection (29 thousand rubles), Hungary (22 thousand rubles), the United Arab Emirates (26 thousand rubles), and Sri Lanka (at least 65 thousand rubles).
Earlier, Honored Doctor of Russia, Doctor-Epidemiologist and Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Onishchenko urged residents of Russia who were planning a trip to Egypt or Turkey to return their tickets. In his opinion, the emergence of a new strain of coronavirus infection should be a signal for people to get vaccinated or revaccinated.
