#MYVMESTE winner in the “Green Country” nomination spoke about her eco-project

Winner of the # WEMESTE award Anna Chigarina said that she has been creating eco-projects from school

Winner of the # WEVMESTE award for the track “Volunteers and NGOs” “Green Country”, head of environmental projects “#YaBeregu”, “Green Office”, “Recycling Workshop” Anna Chigarina told why she took up waste disposal issues. In total, she has been engaged in environmental volunteering for more than nine years.

“In my life I proceed from the principles of thrifty and conscious use and I believe that nature gives us thousands of times more than we give to her. At the same time, most people not only do not appreciate this, but also respond with evil for good – they throw garbage, create landfills, pollute the earth, water and air. And if research is to be believed, our generation is consuming the resources of our future generations. And, if today you do not start taking drastic measures, then tomorrow it may be too late. At the global level, the problem of waste disposal is very complex, since it cannot be solved overnight – it is necessary to create infrastructure, work with the population, educate school about the importance of waste sorting, the state create incentive programs for businesses to switch to eco-packaging , have changed their business strategies in line with sustainable development goals, ”she said.

Chigarina noted that this year the forum has a large scale, there are many interesting speakers. She noted that this is an excellent platform for communication, networking and meeting new and interesting projects in the field of ecology. She also spoke about her first eco-project.

“I realized my first ecological project at school. We went to collect waste in whole detachments. I lived in a village located on the M-5 highway, truckers often stopped there and left trash behind. We took packages, gloves and cleaned there in our free time. Then these campaigns became regular. From serious and systemic projects: the first was the “Recycling Workshop”, where we began to study the issue of plastic recycling, found a plant that produces equipment for this and began to build workshops for polymer recycling, conduct open master classes for residents. Then there were others, for example, the #YaBeregu project, dedicated to the separate collection and processing of medical waste during a pandemic. “ECO-ball”, during which we held a series of educational webinars on how to make things useful for everyday life from scrap materials, ”she said.

Anna Chigarina also thanked her family and friends, as well as everyone who voted for her project. And also everyone thanks to whom it turned out. She also talked about how the project will develop after her victory.

“Project # YaBeregu needs, first of all, PR and administrative support. We want to have boxes for collecting gloves and masks in all public places, in the offices of large and medium-sized corporations. The pandemic will not end today and tomorrow, we will live with this for the next two years, and therefore it is important not only to keep people healthy, but also to properly dispose of used masks and gloves. And today, unfortunately, the population does not have such a culture, and many do not even know that a mask getting into a container with garbage makes the entire container unsuitable for recycling, “she said.

Recall, December 3 in the exhibition hall “Manezh” in the framework of the international forum of civic participation #MYVMESTE, the winners of the #MYVMESTE prize of the track “Volunteers and NGOs” were awarded in the nomination “Green Country”. The first place went to the project “# IBeregu”.
