FSB detained for incitement to terrorist activities jailed for 10 years

FSB: a resident of Komsomolsk-on-Amur was sentenced to 10 years for assisting terrorists from IS a resident of Komsomolsk-on-Amur will go to prison for ten years for assisting terrorists. The defendant named Bazhin was found guilty under Articles 205.1. Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Assistance in terrorist activities”), 205.2. (“Participation in the activities of an organization which, in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, is recognized as terrorist”). The convict will spend the first three years in prison, and the rest of the term in a maximum security colony.

According to the FSB, the young man voluntarily swore allegiance to the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS) banned in Russia. He posted posts on Telegram in which he called on users to engage in terrorist activities, and also justified terrorism. Bazhin also sent money to IS militants.
