The court confirmed the legality of the arrest of KPRF deputy Samsonov in the case of child molestation Artyom Samsonov, accused of child molestation. This was reported by Kommersant with reference to the lawyer of the defendant in the case, Alexei Kletskin.
Following the hearing, the preventive measure in the form of detention was recognized as legal, the complaint was rejected. The defense asked to release Samsonov from the pre-trial detention center.
On December 2, investigators charged him under Article 132 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Actions of a sexual nature against a person under 14 years of age”). He does not admit his guilt in pedophilia.
According to the investigation, Samsonov showed an 11-year-old child a dildo two years ago at a recreation center in Vladivostok and told about the purpose of this object.
The deputy was detained on November 17. As a sign of disagreement with the crime incriminated to him, he went on a hunger strike, but after a few days he ended it and agreed to undergo a polygraph test.
