Forgetful lottery player doubled his winnings by mistake and got 57 million rubles

49-year-old Scottie Thomas from Fayetteville was going to participate in the lottery. The man admitted that he was lying and watching basketball on TV when the thought occurred to him that he had not had time to buy the required ticket. Then he bought it online and filled it out.
The next morning, his son noticed that Thomas bought two tickets, and ended up spending four dollars (295 rubles) on goods. The player's forgetfulness doubled his winnings: each ticket brought him a prize in the form of lifetime payments of 25 thousand dollars (1.8 million rubles) per year. The man chose to take both prizes as a lump sum. In total, after paying taxes, he received 780 thousand dollars (57.8 million rubles).
“When I realized that I won, I had to lie on the floor, because I just could not believe that what happened. This is a blessing! ” – Thomas said.
The American plans to invest the money received in the business, pay bills and help the family. In addition, he is thinking about buying a house.
