Foreign Minister Lavrov: The United States expressed its readiness to assist in the implementation of the Minsk agreements agreements to resolve the crisis. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the Russian minister, the capabilities of the American side can be used for the peace process in the Ukrainian southeast. He also noted that the United States assured Russia that it does not want to undermine the work of the “Normandy format” by its efforts to resolve the issue in Ukraine.
Lavrov said that Russia does not refuse contacts on Ukraine and is ready to cooperate, in including the United States. The main thing for Moscow is to understand where Washington's actions will be directed. The minister also said that during the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OSCE countries, the Russian delegation distributed printouts with the text of the Minsk agreements among the participants.
Earlier, Lavrov held a 40-minute round of talks with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. At the meeting, the heads of the foreign ministries discussed the situation with the work of the Russian and US embassies, touched upon the normalization of the crisis in southeastern Ukraine and the process of resuming the Iranian nuclear deal.
