The defense announced the falsification of evidence in the case of the former governor of the Penza region
The lawyer of the former governor of the Penza region, Ivan Belozernovurov, asked the Russian general falsification of evidence in a corruption case. This is reported by Kommersant.
According to the newspaper, the investigators removed from the Belozertsev case the episode of receiving a bribe in the form of a Mercedes-Benz V 250d car.
Instead, an episode with “Trips from Moscow to St. Petersburg and back with a driver.” At the same time, the investigators replaced the model of the car with a Mercedes-Benz S 350d 4Matic.
As the newspaper notes, at the trial on November 15, the prosecution mentioned the episode in passing, and did not name the model of the car at all. The ex-governor's lawyer insists that the investigators falsified evidence in the case of his client.
The lawyer also noted that the car that originally appeared in the case was leased by Boris Shpigel's Biotech company. In accordance with the agreement, the car was returned in February 2020.
According to the investigation, Belozertsev received a bribe in the form of an expensive watch, a car and 20 million rubles in cash. Spiegel, his wife and director of OJSC “Pharmacy” Koloskov through intermediaries, Markov and Fedotov, transferred the illegal remuneration to him.
The former governor admitted that he received 20 million rubles from businessman Spiegel, but said that this money was intended for election campaign.
