The Ukrainian authorities have begun negotiations with the European Union on additional financial assistance Yuriy Butsa, Commissioner for Public Debt Management of Ukraine.
“We have officially requested a long-term macro-financial program from the European Commission to ensure sustainable financing in the coming years,” Butsa said.
It is reported that The administration of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has already begun negotiations with the European Union about the amount of financial assistance and the conditions under which a new loan package will be issued. Bloomberg notes that, taking into account this package, over the past two years the size of the country's financial obligations will amount to more than 1.2 billion euros.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine Sergey Marchenko spoke about the economic depression in the country. He noted that such signs as a drop in industrial production were observed in Ukraine back in 2019, and the coronavirus pandemic only accelerated these processes.
