The family of Gradsky's father Boris Fradkin was evacuated to the Chelyabinsk region from Kharkov during the Great Patriotic War. The singer was born in Kopeisk in 1949 and lived there until he was eight years old, after which he and his parents moved to Moscow.
Alexander Gradsky died on the morning of November 28 from a heart attack in the intensive care unit of the capital's hospital. Prior to that, he suffered a stroke and suffered from pain in his legs.
