Three Il-76 military transport aircraft arrived at the Kabul airport and delivered the cargo – now they are landing evacuees citizens for departure from Afghanistan. In order to provide the necessary medical care and support to the citizens of Russia and other countries, each vehicle carries a medical and nursing brigade of military doctors with the necessary medical equipment and medicines.

In addition, on all aircraft to ensure the flight of evacuees from Afghanistan there is an adequate supply of drinking water, blankets and individual rations.

Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian Ministry of Defense, on behalf of the head of state Vladimir Putin, was evacuating from Afghanistan citizens who want to leave the republic. Peskov stressed that among them are not only Russians, but also representatives of the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

On November 15 and 17, explosions occurred in Kabul, as a result of which at least six people died. Terrorist attacks have become more frequent in Afghanistan after representatives of the Taliban (banned in Russia as terrorist) came to power. According to the Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, events in the country could develop according to a catastrophic scenario if the authorities in Kabul fail to normalize the situation.
